6 Days Tarangire – Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Budget Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire

Depart Arusha early morning and begin the journey to your destination accompanied by our friendly and knowledgeable driver guide. You will be driven to Tarangire. On arrival you will have a game drive en route to the campsite. Tarangire National park is famous for the huge elephants or known as home of elephants. Lunch at the camp and afterwards head for the evening game drive to explore the park famous for its tree-climbing pythons. Many of the animals congregate around the only source of permanent water in the park, the Tarangire River. Diner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti

Morning game drive after breakfast hoping to capture early morning kills as well as other wildlife you might have missed on your previous game drive. Depart and proceed to Serengeti arriving in time for lunch. After settling in your tents, head out for the evening game drive. Serengeti covers 12,944km2 of open plains making it one of the largest in the world. The rocky outcrops commonly known as moru kopjes in the eastern part of the park are of scenic beauty and occasionally cats can be seen lazing on them. The park contains vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other antelopes. Dinner and overnight at your budget campsite.

Day 3: Serengeti

After breakfast head out for the morning game drive. Delve into the vast plains of this reserve where the encounter of the big five is common. A drive to the seronera river offers possibilities of sighting big and small cats. The visitor centre close to the Serengeti seronera public campsites is well worth a visit after the morning’s game drive. Lunch at your lodge; relax in the afternoon before your evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at budget campsite.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

Morning game drive after breakfast hoping to capture early morning kills as well as other wildlife you might have missed on your previous game drive. Depart and you will be driven to Ngorongoro crater via the Olduvai Gorge; the site where the Leakey’s family discovered fossils of human remains dating back almost two million years. It is believed to be the cradle of man kind. We will have lunch at the site and afterwards proceed arriving late afternoon. After check inn; take a guided walk along the crater rim enjoying the view as the African sun sets. Diner and overnight at your campsite.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast head to the crater with packed lunch. Descend to the crater floor for a day game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is the world biggest volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world not only because of its geological magnificence but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa largest population of large mammals. The annual wildebeest and zebras migration passes through the crater. We will take a break for lunch and thereafter we continue with game viewing while ascending the crater. Diner and overnight at your campsite.

Day 6: Ngorongoro – Arusha

Breakfast at leisure; depart and you will be driven back to Arusha arriving in by lunch time. Drop off at your hotel where your safari ends.
